Sudden viral statistics and unexpected visitors (looking for car parts):

April's statistics show that our visitors from Russia have taken their traffic away with them.  People visiting P'kaboo are once again our refined book crowd who have the good sense to browse our reads, place occasional orders for friends, fam and (in the case of music books) business, and download our free reads for their entertainment.



Not Another Scale Book!

Our violin expert Prof Solomon's scale book is available in some Pretoria music shops; but if you are a violin teacher intending to place a multiple order for your studio, feel free to approach P'kaboo for a teacher's discount.  There is no guarantee that this will last so place your order soon.

Violin Tunes, our local beginners' book, is enjoying wider distribution now by being available in music shops across all of South Africa as well as CNA.  If your local branch does not carry it, feel free to ask them to order it from another branch.

New Look for the Bookshop

Our bookshop has received a new, trimmer look.  Another upgrade is that each book now has its own page.  The page includes reviews and comments from readers, as well as a blurb and a link to a preview (in most cases), and where applicable, links to the other sequels in a series.


This was an important upgrade as our bookshop is growing and the page was growing beyond reasonable proportions.  This way, too, one can "like" and "twitter" each book specifically.

Invitations to our authors:  Do encourage your friends, and Facebook and Twitter audience, to visit the site and preview your book.  You know how to email a url...  :)

You will also find a number of CDs in the CD shop; probably more than you expected to see there.  This is mainly thanks to our prolific composer of neo-classical music, Leslie Hyla Winton Noble.  You will also see the CD by Iain Rossouw, dealing with environmental "eish-shoes".

Welcome to 2012.

We are currently chiselling away at the website, working on giving every book its very own page.  This is going to facilitate site navigation quite a bit and it also means that you can zoom in on one specific title, if that is what you are looking at.  The bookshop is becoming more compact - a must with more titles being added.

We have a number of projects in the pipeline, some of which are announced on "Coming Soon" and some which are not.

I tried to paste some of the new layout for the book pages in here but Blogger doesn't seem to handle the formatting too well, so instead I'll delight you with a few pictures to click on.  And some that are not clickable.

POST HASTE

Thanks to P'Kaboo for inviting me to pop words and stuff here on occasion.  This is to make sure I've succeeded in getting all signed in and sofifth, and to check that what I post will duly be delivered.  This may happen, of course, in true SA style, with the stamps steamed off for re-use, and contents of any value removed lest they fall into the hands of the intended recipients - which would never do. 

I am fur vent lee hoe ping that 2012 may finally see the serving of Forest Circle Quest, which has kept having to be stuck back into the oven because it wasn't cooked for long enough or the heat was on the wrong temperature or something.  The crusts eventually came out perfectly, but the fillings stayed all soggy. Therefore the crusts have been kept aside, all ready for putting outside the inside when we dee side it is done (he sighed).

Before subjecting it to more cooking, I stuck in a few extra herbs and spices here and there which I am sure will improve the flavour.
